CHILTON, Wis. – The Republican Party of Calumet held their annual caucus on Saturday, January 28th at the Eagle’s Club in Chilton. Last year, the county party nearly reached 250 members and are already over 170 members in 2023.


Caucus guest speakers were Justice Dan Kelly, Judge Jennifer Dorow, Congressman Glenn Grothman, Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu, Representative Ron Tusler, and Patrick McNulty for Congressman Gallagher.


New leadership was elected at our caucus. Those positions were filled by the following people:

  • Chairman – Ann Calnin (Brothertown)
  • 1st Vice Chair – Jim Lintner (Appleton)
  • 2nd Vice Chair – Julie Ruh (New Holstein)
  • Secretary – Kris Boll (Chilton)
  • Treasurer – Christine Clark (Sherwood)

Chairman Ann Calnin states, “I recognize I have huge shoes to fill following Ty Bodden. However, I am confident we will continue to be strong since we have a lot of returning board members and Ty will continue to be a resource for the party.”


Linda Hoerth of Chilton was awarded the county party’s first Robert and Penny Benzschawel Award. This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the success of the Republican county party. This person is recognized for their dedication, involvement, and relentless efforts in pushing for better in our schools and community. They have had a strong positive impact on the organization as a whole and have made a lasting difference. This award is a testament to the individual’s commitment to excellence and their valuable role in the organization.


The Republican Party of Calumet County would also like to thank Tom Detroye, Bruce “Buzz” Laughrin, Bob Berres, Chad Doran, Marilynne Bowe, and Mandy Woelfel for their service on the County Party board these last two years.
