MADISON – Senator Melissa Agard (D-Madison), Senate Democratic Leader, applauds Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation for recommending Assembly Bill 11 (AB 11) for passage. Senator Agard co-authored AB 11 and if it is signed into law, the annual vehicle admission fee for families of fourth grade students will be waived. Senator Agard released the following statement:
“As a mom of four boys, I have seen firsthand the importance and impact of introducing young people to the joys of the outdoors. By inviting more young people into our state parks, we are planting seeds that will carry on the legacy of our public lands and teaching future generations how to preserve, conserve, and enjoy all that our shared resources have to offer.
“One of the reasons I am so proud to call Wisconsin my home is because of the tremendous state parks we have to offer. Our natural spaces are a vital part of our Wisconsin way of life, and I commend the actions taken to move Assembly Bill 11 closer to passage so that our state parks are accessible to all who wish to visit.”
