MADISON, WIS. — Last night, the Wisconsin State Legislature passed Assembly Bill 245, relating to: shared revenue the state provides to local governments.

Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara (R-Appleton) applauded the action, noting, “I am ecstatic. These measures have gone through countless hours of negotiation across party lines and extensive community input.”

“This new funding will make a significant difference. This money will fund critical services that keep our communities running and ensure our neighborhoods are safe.”

Assembly Bill 245 provides a minimum shared revenue increase of 20 percent for nearly every municipality and county in Wisconsin. Under the measure, millions of more dollars will be made available to communities across the Fox Valley.

“No piece of legislation is perfect, but after months of leaders on both sides engaging across the aisle, I’m proud of the way we came together to boost support for our local governments.”
