MADISON – Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) released the following statement after receiving the 2023 Lake Michigan Champion of Conservation Policymaker Award from the Lake Michigan Stakeholders:
“I am proud to accept the Lake Michigan Stakeholders’ Champion of Conservation Policymaker Award. All of the bodies of water in Northeast Wisconsin – from Lake Michigan to the smallest ponds and streams – are vital environmental resources for our communities. Working hard to conserve these wonders of nature ensures that generation after generation can continue to discover their beauty and importance in our ecosystem.
“My congratulations go out to my fellow award winners, who have all pioneered unique solutions to face Wisconsin’s conservation challenges as they arise in their own communities. I also would like to thank Lake Michigan Stakeholders and Representative Joel Kitchens, my colleague in the Legislature, for all their help.”
