This is State Senator Mary Felzkowski with an update on where we’re at in the state budget process.

From last fall until today, we’ve been working hard to gather input, research programs, and discuss the merits of every idea in Governor Evers’ budget proposal.

Agencies told the Governor they need to maintain services, the Governor prepared his ideas and addressed them to the Legislature, legislators held listening sessions in their districts, and the Joint Finance Committee took public comments from around the state.

Looking to the future, the Joint Finance Committee will begin to vote on budget provisions – taking into account the feedback constituents have given.

We look forward to crafting another responsible state budget that addresses the needs of Wisconsin, while maintaining a bright fiscal future.
