Madison, WI – Yesterday, the Senate Committee on Universities and Revenue voted on legislation which would eliminate the personal property tax. State Senator Brad Pfaff (D-Onalaska) voted in support of the bill and released the following statement on his vote:

“The personal property tax is a tremendous burden on small businesses and local governments alike, and it is far past time that we eliminate it.”

“We need to continue to find ways to grow our local businesses and remove barriers to our economy like this more than 170-year-old tax. Removing the personal property tax is a common sense, bipartisan issue, and I’m proud to have voted for its elimination.”
