Madison, WI – Senator Cory Tomczyk (R-Mosinee) issued the following statement regarding Governor Evers signing SB 270 and SB 324 into law. Senator Tomczyk was the Senate author on these bills:
“I am pleased to report the signing of two bills into law yesterday, SB 270 and SB 324. SB 270 streamlines the utility relocation process during road construction projects. Instead of long, drawn out, and costly delays that often end in legal battles, the bill creates a collaborative process. SB 270 requires utilities, contractors, and Wisconsin DOT to work together, rather than against each other, to resolve delays.
SB 324 codifies federal law by prohibiting local and state government units from imposing restrictions on refrigerants that are designated acceptable for use by the EPA. This bill was necessary to allow Wisconsin to join every other state in the country in phasing out old refrigerants that are harmful to the environment.”
