“I am proud to vote for the state budget today. We built a budget based on what Wisconsin needs, not what special interest groups want.

“With a record surplus, Republicans delivered a record tax cut and record investment in K-12 education. We continued investing in our children by increasing funds for school safety and child care. We recognized a growing crisis and put extra resources in health care and mental health. We paid down debt, decreased borrowing and avoided divisive policies.

“Despite record spending, Democrats are already whining that we didn’t spend enough taxpayer money on this or that. They must think taxpayer money grows on trees. The truth is no matter how much we spend, even record amounts, Democrats say “it’s not enough!” It will never be enough for them. But we all know taxpayers have paid more than enough.”
