Madison, WI – On Thursday, Senator Mary Felzkowski (R-Tomahawk) joined her fellow Republican Joint Finance Committee members in announcing a $4.4 billion tax cut for all Wisconsinites.
“Throughout this entire budget process, we’ve heard from citizens across our state, loud and clear, that this historic surplus is a testament to the fact that we’re taxing them too much to begin with. As a result, we’re passing the largest tax cut Wisconsin has ever seen.”
The Republican plan includes a $795 million property tax cut and a $3.5 billion income tax cut that will touch every Wisconsinite. The income tax cuts, heavily weighted towards middle-class earners, will make Wisconsin more competitive with our neighboring states, and help us attract more individuals ready to live, work, and raise a family in Wisconsin.
The structure of the income tax cut collapses the middle two brackets into one, and lowers the rate for all three of the new brackets.
“This tax cut shows our commitment to making Wisconsin an appealing state to call home, and I will always vote to keep more hard-earned money in my constituents’ pockets, where it rightfully belongs – not in the hands of Madison bureaucrats.”
