MADISON, WI – Today, Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard blasted Senate Republicans calling their decision to gut the Office of School Safety a dangerous move that prioritizes politics over the safety of our children.
“Yesterday’s actions by JFC Republicans to block critical funding for the Office of School Safety is yet another example of Republicans in Madison prioritizing politics over people – this time at the expense of the safety and lives our children, teachers, and staff,” said Senate Democratic Leader Melissa Agard. “Parents send their kids to school every day and worry about their safe return. And thanks to Republicans, who have proven time and time again their callous disregard for that concern, our children will be less safe tomorrow than they were yesterday.”
