Madison, WI – This morning, Senate Minority Leader Melissa Agard responded to the irresponsible and overtly partisan comments by Representative Dan Knodl, about his thoughts on potentially impeaching Janet Protasiewicz from the Wisconsin Supreme Court should the GOP achieve a supermajority in the State Senate on April 4th.

“The comments by Representative Knodl are disqualifying.” said Agard, “ The fact that a candidate for public office would openly ruminate on impeaching an individual who has not even won their election simply because they differ ideologically shows the callous disrespect Dan Knodl has for our Democracy and for Wisconsin voters.”

Agard continued, “The residents of the 8th Senate District deserve a representative that will actually work for them and prioritize their voices and their challenges to the State Capitol. Dan Knodl seems more interested in playing the same, tired partisan games and settling scores against those he disagrees with politically than actually giving a damn about the people he hopes to represent. The Senate Democrats and I are determined to ensure the people of the 8th Senate District understand who Dan Knodl really is: extreme, vindictive, and ineffective.”

Senator Melissa Agard and the Senate Democrats are supporting Jodi Habush Sinykin in the special election for Senate District 8. Jodi is a longtime resident of the district, and currently resides in Whitefish Bay with her Husband Dan. She and Dan own and operate Monterey Mills, one of the last remaining textile factories in Wisconsin and she has previously worked for Midwest Environmental Advocates as general legal counsel.
