WASHINGTON, DC – The Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party yesterday hosted Taiwan’s Legislative Speaker, Mr. You Si-kun, in a meeting with committee members.
The group discussed how the United States and Taiwan can deepen our relationship through economic engagement and security assistance, and how Congress can support Taiwan against CCP incursions. Committee members walked away with a deeper understanding of the perspective of Taiwan’s legislators.
Chairman Mike Gallagher said, “It was an honor to host Speaker You Si-kun. Deterring Chinese Communist Party aggression against Taiwan is essential. We continue to work hand in hand with Taiwan and our allies in the region to maintain peace — and ensure the Indo-Pacific remains free and open for the benefit of all people.”
