(Fond du Lac, WI) – Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman endorsed Waukesha Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Dorow for the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Monday.
“Over the last several weeks, many people have approached me asking me how I’m going to vote in the Wisconsin State Supreme Court primary on February 21st. We know this is a vitally important primary because Janet Protasiewicz has, in my opinion, unethically announced she will get rid of photo ID for voting, redistrict Wisconsin’s legislative districts, and undo Scott Walker’s legislation which made it easier to fire a bad public employee – including bad school teachers. I have worked too hard over the course of my career to see these important laws undone by an ultra liberal Milwaukee judge.
I’ve had discussions with both Jennifer Dorow and Daniel Kelly and both would make fine justices and would not engage in the reckless behavior of Janet Protasiewicz. I have heard both of these candidates speak at four events in the past month. Daniel Kelly has stated that he will not endorse Jennifer Dorow if she wins the primary election. Jennifer Dorow has made it very clear that if she loses the primary, she will endorse Daniel Kelly. I find her answer to this question to be a much more mature approach, and quite frankly, shows she has a greater understanding of what is at stake in this election. I am also concerned that there has been at least two million dollars worth of ads run against Dorow in the last two weeks by outside groups that normally back Democrats.
This has become what I see as a national trend – Democrat supporting groups getting involved in conservative primaries trying to take out the stronger candidates. The Democrats must view Jennifer Dorow as the stronger candidate. For these reasons, I will be voting for Jennifer Dorow for Wisconsin State Supreme Court. I intend to be very active in support for either Judge Dorow or former Justice Kelly beginning when the primary winner is decided. Please join me in voting
for Jennifer Dorow tomorrow.”
