MADISON, WI – U.S. Representative Mark Pocan (WI-02) released the following statement after the Biden administration announced a $1.1 billion federal investment from the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program created by the Infrastructure Law.
“High-speed internet access is no longer a luxury; it’s a requirement. Nearly everything we do requires access to the internet. Whether it’s paying bills, making sure kids can do their homework, or speaking with our doctors at a telehealth appointment, a reliable, high-speed connection is needed. This historic investment of more than $1 billion will create good-paying jobs across the state and help make access to the internet a reality for all Wisconsinites.
