WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today released the following statement after President Biden signed the Pandemic is Over Act into law and formally ended the COVID-19 public health emergency.
“The pandemic is over and has been for some time. House Republicans promised to recognize this reality by repealing the COVID-19 public health emergency, and today President Biden was forced to sign a bipartisan bill accomplishing this into law. The Biden administration relied on these special authorities to spend massive sums of taxpayer dollars and expand the size of the federal government, and now these gross abuses of executive power are coming to an end. Now we need accountability regarding the Chinese Communist Party’s coverup of the origin of the pandemic, which the Biden administration is unacceptably slow to pursue.”
