Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale released the following statement:

In tonight’s State of the State address, Governor Tony Evers articulated an agenda that reflects his genuine understanding of the needs of working Wisconsinites. His administration’s priorities, including major infrastructure investments that will provide good jobs, including ensuring that every Wisconsin family has access to clean drinking water, better access to reliable, high-speed internet to ensure no one in our state is caught on the wrong side of the digital divide, and high-quality public education that prepares our kids for a brighter future in the 21st century economy, are examples of the practical and effective leadership Wisconsin needs.

In addition to his pro-worker policy initiatives, Governor Evers’ ongoing commitment to safeguarding the foundational principles of our democracy in the face of hyper-partisan attacks should earn him the gratitude of all who believe in accountable, representative government.

On behalf of Wisconsin’s union families, we call on all our state’s leaders to support the common-sense, pro-opportunity agenda Governor Evers outlined tonight.
