MADISON – Wisconsin Women in Government (WWIG), a statewide, bipartisan, non-profit organization, will host the Annual Scholarship & Recognition Gala at Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center on Wednesday, May 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. The annual event draws elected and appointed leaders, advocates and lobbyists, legislative staffers, and others working in and with all levels and branches of local, state, and federal government.
“Gala is our signature event and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate women leaders and those who dedicate their careers to public service,” said WWIG president Audra Cohen-Plata.
The event features a keynote speaker, presentation of the Legacy and Rising Star Awards, acknowledgement of 2022-2023 WWIG scholarship recipients, and silent auction. Registration includes a heavy appetizer buffet, and a cash bar is available. The event is open to all—WWIG membership is not required—and sponsorships are available.
“This is truly a special event and festive night,” Plata said. “WWIG draws a bipartisan crowd, and Gala is a great way to connect informally with colleagues on both sides of the aisle.
