APPLETON—Since declaring her candidacy in February, Kris Aflheim has been hyper-focused on meeting with voters, listening to their concerns, and running a race that speaks to those kitchen-table issues. Meanwhile, Republicans have been engaged in a race to the right, trying to stake out the most extreme positions on reproductive healthcare, LGBTQ+ issues, and so much more.
Now with the August primary results being finalized, voters will have a choice: the rational, common-sense candidate in Kris Alfheim or Republican nominee Anthony Phillips.
Alfheim released the following statement:
“My campaign continues to be about finding common-sense solutions to the everyday problems facing Wisconsinites. Compare that to my opponent, whose campaign is centered around taking away fundamental freedoms and choices from Wisconsin women. I will keep working to meet voters where they are and find a middle ground to move Wisconsin forward.
“Rather than pandering to extremes, I am committed to making housing more affordable, uplifting our public schools, lowering costs, expanding healthcare, improving community safety, and making the Fox Valley a place where people want to live, work, and raise a family.”
