Madison, WI – While Governor Evers celebrates that the state of Wisconsin is ending the fiscal year with a positive balance of $4.6 billion, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) is calling out why this surplus is not so “fiscally prudent.” The premier grassroots organization is highlighting the Cato Institute’s Report Card that gave Governor Evers an “F” grade on his fiscal policy as governor.
AFP State Director Megan Novak made the following statement:
“Governor Evers’ ‘F’ grade on fiscal policy is a long time coming. Every proposed budget from Governor Evers has resulted in more government spending and overall tax hikes.
“Now, a multi-billion-dollar slush fund sits in Madison as a result of Governor Evers’ multiple vetoes of middle-class tax cuts. If Evers truly cared about Wisconsinites, he wouldn’t boast a billion-dollar surplus while our families and businesses continue to struggle to make ends meet. But rather unsurprisingly, he’s proven once again just how out of touch he is with hardworking Wisconsin taxpayers.”
