Hi folks! Welcome back to Tammy Tuesdays, our weekly update email on Tammy’s work and the big fights she’s taking on for Wisconsin families.

Tammy knows that there’s more that unites us than divides. She understands that Wisconsin’s middle-class families all want good paying jobs, affordable health care, and the same freedoms their parents and grandparents had.

Read below for highlights of what Tammy worked on this week:

Protecting Wisconsin’s Dairy Industry

Tammy knows that Wisconsin isn’t called America’s Dairyland for just any reason. Wisconsin dairy farmers work hard to make sure that they’re putting out nothing but the best quality dairy products on grocery store shelves that end up on our families’ dinner tables. That’s why she’ll always work hard to do right by our proud dairy industry.

Last Friday, Tammy was proud to secure an additional $3.45 million for Wisconsin’s dairy businesses through her Dairy Business Innovation Initiative (DBII), a program she created under the 2018 Farm Bill to help dairy businesses across the country grow, innovate, and reach new markets. Since the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative launched in 2018, it has directed $165 million in federal funding to support farmers and processors. This initiative has awarded grants to dozens of Wisconsin’s dairy businesses to help them diversify their businesses, expand dairy production, and create jobs. The past, present, and future of Wisconsin includes our dairy industries, and Tammy is always going to work hard to keep it that way.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation announced their support for Tammy Baldwin’s U.S. Senate reelection campaign last week, making her the first statewide Democrat to receive the Farm Bureau endorsement in over 20 years. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the largest general farm organization in the state, representing 61 county Farm Bureaus and over 47,000 members across the state. Tammy knows that our Wisconsin farmers and small businesses are the backbone of our rural communities, and she is committed to working hard to ensure they can flourish for generations to come.

Uplifting Wisconsin’s Black Communities

Tammy knows that Wisconsin has served as a place of opportunity and hope for so many, including our Black communities. And she’s proud of this fact. Our Black communities make our state a stronger and better place, which is why Tammy is committed to investing in them and working alongside community leaders as we fight together to make Wisconsin a better and more equitable place to live and raise a family.

On Saturday, Tammy hosted a roundtable discussion with Milwaukee’s Black elected officials. The conversation touched on voting rights, increasing community safety, and the stakes of the 2024 election amongst other topics. Tammy is taking everything she heard from this productive and essential conversation right back to Washington so that we can keep working toward making Wisconsin a place of inclusivity, safety, and opportunity for all who live here.

Supporting Our Veterans

Wisconsin is the proud home of service members, veterans, and military families who have made incredible sacrifices for our country. Our veterans put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free, and Tammy believes that they deserve everything we can provide. That’s why Tammy is working hard across party lines to do right by our veterans and make sure they have the care, good paying jobs, and community support that they have earned and deserve.

Last Tuesday, Tammy and Senator Tammy Duckworth hosted a meet and greet in Rock County, where they discussed protecting veterans’, Medicare, and Social Security benefits. Tammy knows how much veterans sacrifice for our country and wants to ensure that they are able to cut through the red tape and receive their hard earned benefits when they return home.

Supporting Wisconsin’s Small Businesses

Wisconsin is the small business powerhouse of the Midwest and Tammy is proud of this fact. Last Wednesday, Tammy visited two local Milwaukee area businesses to discuss her work supporting Wisconsin’s economy and her dedication to defending our democracy. Tammy knows that our small businesses make our communities more vibrant and keep our Made in Wisconsin economy going strong. That’s why Tammy is always going to do right by our small businesses.

Gearing Up for November

Last week, Tammy kicked off October with campaign stops across Southern Wisconsin. From small business visits, meet and greets, canvass launches, and constituency roundtable discussions, Tammy was excited to meet with Southern Wisconsinites to talk about the issues that are going to be at the top of the ballot this Election Day. Tammy is committed to getting the job done for Wisconsinites. That means restoring our freedoms, bringing home more good paying jobs, and making health care and prescription drugs more affordable. Tammy is the fighter Wisconsinites can always count on to take on the big fights and win.
