Hi folks! Welcome back to Tammy Tuesdays, our weekly update email on Tammy’s work and the big fights she’s taking on for Wisconsin families.

Tammy knows that there’s more that unites us than divides. She understands that Wisconsin’s middle-class families all want good paying jobs, affordable health care, and the same freedoms their parents and grandparents had.

Read below for highlights of what Tammy worked on this week:

Standing Up for Wisconsin Workers

Tammy is proud of Wisconsin workers who do so much to keep our Made in Wisconsin economy going strong and our state moving forward. This Labor Day, Tammy was proud to honor our workers, unions, and Wisconsin’s history as a Midwest pro-union stronghold at the Milwaukee Laborfest alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Tammy knows that Wisconsin workers are some of the best in the world who can make anything: paper, engines, tools, ships, to beer, brats, cheese, and more. For all that our workers do for our state and our country, Tammy promises that she’s always going to work hard to create more job opportunities, support workers’ rights, and protect our workers’ hard-earned benefits.

Rebuilding Our Roads & Bridges

Tammy knows that strong bridges and safe roads aren’t red or blue issues. Wisconsinites use bridges and roads everyday to go to work and school. Our roads and bridges keep our communities connected and our economy going strong.
Last week, Tammy was excited to announce the next cycle of funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which includes $25 million to the City of Milwaukeeand an additional $9.2 million to OshkoshGreen Bay, and La Crosse to improve road safety. This funding will be used to make needed safety improvements along Center Street in Milwaukee, and to plan, design, and implement proven safety interventions, such as separated bike lanes and raised intersections to slow vehicle speeds, improve pedestrian crossings, and boost public transportation. Wisconsinites want to know that they can get from Point A to Point B safely, and that’s why Tammy is going to keep working hard to invest in our transportation infrastructure.

Investing in Wisconsin’s Airports

Wisconsinites know how critical our regional airports are. Whether it’s to visit our loved ones, go on vacation, or take a business trip, people across the state rely on our airports to get from Point A to Point B safely and efficiently.
This Monday, Tammy was proud to announce over $34 million in federal funding for airports across Wisconsin. This funding, coming from the Baldwin-backed 2024 annual government funding bill, is intended for airports to make needed safety and operation improvements. Tammy knows that when we invest in our airports, we are improving the day-to-day lives of Wisconsinites and driving our economy forward.

Standing Up for Made in America Manufacturing

Way before many in Washington started talking about Made in America and stopping overseas job outsourcing, Tammy was working hard to protect American jobs and keep factories open here in Wisconsin.

From bringing jobs to Wisconsin to including her Made in America provisions in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Tammy goes to bat for our workers and wins big. Last Wednesday, Tammy toured Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc, a company that makes aluminum parts for various industries. During the tour, Tammy highlighted her work with the CHIPS and Science Act as well as the Inflation Reduction Act in creating jobs and bringing jobs back to the U.S. from overseas. Tammy is committed to putting America first and strengthening laws that will boost our economy and support our Wisconsin workers.

Fighting to Make Sure All Wisconsinites Can Watch the Packers

Tammy knows that our Green Bay Packers are the best team with the best fans out there. As the only NFL team owned by their fans, the Packers are adored by Wisconsinites in all corners of the state. However, cable and satellite providers are not playing Packers games for our fans on the Minnesota and Michigan borders when Packers games overlap with Lions or Vikings games.

Recently, Tammy met with supporters in Hudson to discuss her Go Pack Go Act, which would make sure that all Wisconsinites — no matter where they live — can watch Green Bay Packers game broadcasts. She also called out the NFL for neglecting Packers fans by scheduling Packers, Lions, and Vikings kick offs at the same time, leaving Packers fans potentially unable to watch the Green and Gold. Tammy is going to keep working hard until each and every Wisconsinite can watch our beloved Green Bay Packers.

Kicking Off the New School Year

To kick off the new school year, Tammy was excited to join Governor Tony Evers and other local leaders in welcoming Milwaukee Public School students with a red carpet and balloons for their first day back at school. Tammy knows that when we invest in public education, we are making an investment in the future leaders of our country. Right now, Tammy is working to pass bold legislation that would address our nationwide teacher shortage by boosting teacher pay and recruiting skilled teachers. And she’s also working to pass the Keep Our PACT Act, which provides federal funding for high-need schools and special education in schools. Tammy is committed to supporting our public school teachers and ensuring every single student in Wisconsin has access to high-quality education regardless of where they live, disability status, or family income level.
