Hi folks! Welcome back to Tammy Tuesdays, our weekly update email on Tammy’s work and the big fights she’s taking on for Wisconsin families.

Tammy knows that there’s more that unites us than divides. She understands that Wisconsin’s middle-class families all want good paying jobs, affordable health care, and the same freedoms their parents and grandparents had.

Read below for highlights of what Tammy worked on this week:

Cutting Costs for Wisconsin Families

A good paying job can only go so far when checks aren’t stretching like they used to. Tammy knows that raising a family in Wisconsin is getting more and more expensive. Child care, rents, and mortgages, groceries, car payments, and interest rates have all been going up, and it’s difficult for Wisconsin families to balance it all. That’s why Tammy is committed to working tirelessly to help alleviate some of the most pressing financial burdens for Wisconsin families so that they can have opportunities to get ahead. And one way Tammy is working to help cut costs is by holding these in control of pricing accountable for their pricing practices.

Tammy is proud to be leading the Price Gouging Prevention Act to crack down on “greedflation,” a practice used by corporations to unnecessarily hike up prices at the expense of American consumers. With this legislation, Tammy is working to federally ban this unfair price gouging and hold corporations accountable for their greedy profit-over-people practices. While the corporations and the ultra-wealthy have it easy making their voices heard in Washington, Tammy is always going to fight for Wisconsin’s working families.

Supporting Wisconsin’s Winter Businesses

Here in Wisconsin, we are no stranger to intense snowstorms and freezing winters, and because of that, we’ve been able to develop a strong winter business economy that includes snow removal services, winter tourism, and much more. But with a warmer than usual winter last year, Wisconsin’s winter businesses who rely and thrive on our cold, snowy winters, were hit hard with financial losses.

That’s why last Thursday, Tammy introduced her Winter Recreation Small Business Recovery Act to ensure small businesses that rely on winter weather are eligible for disaster relief during mild winters that do not produce enough snow. This legislation follows Wisconsin’s warmest winter on record in 2023-2024, when low snowfall and higher temperatures forced the state’s winter tourism industry to find ways to adapt. Tammy knows that small businesses and the tourism industry are at the heart of Northern Wisconsin’s economy, and she is going to keep fighting to ensure these businesses are eligible for the relief they need.

Standing Up for Wisconsin’s Dairy Industry

Tammy knows that Wisconsin isn’t called America’s Dairyland for just any reason. Wisconsin dairy farmers work hard to make sure that they’re putting out nothing but the best quality dairy products on grocery store shelves that end up on our families’ dinner tables. That’s why she’ll always work hard to do right by our proud dairy industry.

Last week, Tammy called on the Biden-Harris administration to put our dairy industry first and ensure that plant-based imitation products are not equated and categorized alongside real dairy products in the upcoming dietary guidelines changes. Tammy’s recent efforts to stand up for our dairy industry build on her bipartisan DAIRY PRIDE Act, which would put a stop to the unfair mislabeling of non-dairy plant-based goods and defend our dairy farmers and producers who work hard to make sure their products are meeting the highest quality standards. Tammy is a fighter that Wisconsin’s dairy farmers and producers can always count on to have their backs.

Fighting to Make Sure All Wisconsinites Can Watch the Packers

Tammy knows that our Green Bay Packers are the best team with the best fans out there. As the only NFL team owned by their fans, the Packers are adored by Wisconsinites in all corners of the state. However, cable and satellite providers are not playing Packers games for our fans on the Minnesota and Michigan borders when Packers games overlap with Lions or Vikings games.

On Sunday, Tammy headed to Green Bay to meet with Brown County supporters and cheer on our beloved Packers at Lambeau Field. Before kickoff, Tammy discussed her Go Pack Go Act, which would make sure that all Wisconsinites — no matter where they live — can watch Green Bay Packers game broadcasts. Tammy is going to keep working hard until each and every Wisconsinite can watch our beloved Green Bay Packers and, hopefully, witness more triumphant victories like their Sunday win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Gearing Up for November

This past Saturday, Tammy and Sen. Patty Murray kicked off a Madison canvass launch and fired up supporters before they hit the doors to canvass for her and Democrats up and down the ballot. In 2024, Tammy is committed to getting the job done for Wisconsinites. That means restoring our freedoms, bringing home more good paying jobs, and making health care and prescription drugs more affordable. Tammy is the fighter Wisconsinites can always count on to take on the big fights and win.
