Fox Valley foundry workers praise Tammy Baldwin in a new TV ad for working to ensure federally funded infrastructure projects are made with American iron and steel, saying the Madison Dem’s effort has resulted in more work for Wisconsin.
Baldwin’s campaign said it will air statewide.
In the four weeks that started with Wisconsin’s Aug. 13 primary, spending in the U.S. Senate race had been fairly even between Baldwin and her allies vs. GOP businessman Eric Hovde and his supporters, according to AdImpact. Hovde and his allies spent $12.8 million through yesterday, while Baldwin and hers dropped $12.1 million.
But from yesterday through the Nov. 5 election, Baldwin and her allies have $33 million reserved, compared to $5.9 million by Hovde and his backers, according to AdImpact.
In the new spot, Baldwin says, “For years our government built America’s infrastructure with Chinese iron and steel. I said that’s gotta change.”
Jason Schmitz, of Menasha, says Baldwin “wrote the law to make sure American projects are made with American iron and steel.”
Mark Bendixen, of New London, says, “Tammy Baldwin stood up to China and our government” before Cedric Owens, of New London, adds, “She got the job done.”
