In response to last night’s election results, Peter Barca released the following statement:
This morning once all the ballots were counted, I called Bryan Steil to concede in the race for Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District.
Here’s what I want to convey: I will still be active in this community, doing my best to show up for working families and our communities in Southeast Wisconsin.
Please know that I very much appreciate your wonderful support. It was a difficult night across our state and nation for the issues we care about, but we must all stay engaged and involved.
You all have been here for our campaign every step of the way. While this was not the outcome we desired, the causes that we care deeply about still exist. At times we have setbacks, but we must must maintain our resolve to work toward attaining the principles and values that we know make our nation stronger over the long term.
