Yesterday in Wisconsin, women across the state stood up for reproductive freedom and against Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans’ efforts to ban abortion nationwide. With Donald Trump and his MAGA allies working to block access to medication abortion, Wisconsin electeds, health care providers, and community leaders spoke out, emphasizing the importance of keeping reproductive health care decisions between a woman and her doctor. President Biden and Vice President Harris continue to be the only candidates in this race who have repeatedly proven their commitment to protecting a woman’s right to choose.

NBC Northern News Now KBJR (Superior, WI):“Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez, who is also a nurse, says banning the pill could be dangerous for all women. Rodriguez says that if the pill is banned all across the U.S., it could be unavailable to women by June or July.”

NBC Newswatch 12 WJFW (Wausau, WI): Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez: “We really need to leave it up to the doctors and the scientists to make decisions about women’s health care, we should not be leaving it up to politicians or anybody with a political agenda.”

ABC Action 2 News WBAY (Green Bay, WI): Dr. Kristin Lyerly, OB/GYN: “[Mifepristone] is the most effective, safest, form of medication out there to manage miscarriages and abortion.”

NBC Newswatch 12 WJFW (Wausau, WI): Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez: “We know what Wisconinites want and we know nationally what women want. They want to be able to have access to abortion care, they want to be able to have access to the care that their physicians are recommending. If this medication was removed and physicians could not use this, this would really be a lot more dangerous for women.”

@kristinforWI: “Mifepristone is safe and effective – more than 5 million people have used it for over 23 years to manage miscarriages and abortions.

Gross political interference like this that has the potential to undermine drug safety and innovation in our country simply cannot stand.”
