WISCONSIN – Votes from last week’s election continue to be tabulated and are expected to be certified in the coming days. While the opportunity for a recount remains available, candidate Eric Hovde has released a statement questioning the veracity of the outcome, despite President Trump’s victory in the state – an outcome that mirrors the 2022 results. The Democracy Defense Project – Wisconsin board, including former Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, former Attorney General JB Van Hollen, former U.S. Representative Scott Klug and former Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate, released the following statement:

“Mr. Hovde is well within his rights to request a recount and ensure that the vote count is indeed accurate, but questioning the integrity of Wisconsin elections is an avenue that only sows distrust in the system moving forward. Wisconsin is a 50/50 state, as we shave now seen in 2 consecutive election cycles when Wisconsin voters elected a Republican and a Democrat statewide. This election was secure, and the pending results of the state canvas will make that abundantly clear.”
