Today, former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, and Wisconsin Teamsters President Bill Carroll held a press conference in Milwaukee to outline the threat Donald Trump’s Project 2025 plan poses for everyday Wisconsinites.
Trump has vowed to be a dictator on “day one” and he and his allies have created their Project 2025 plan to gut checks and balances, bring independent agencies under Trump’s control, and allow him to weaponize the government to go after his political opponents. In stark contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz will protect our democracy and our fundamental freedoms.
“If you look at just the highlights of Project 2025, it would expand presidential power and restructure the federal government to concentrate power in the hands of Donald Trump,” said former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. “Every generation has been called upon ultimately to defend democracy. This is our time… If we work together […] we will defend democracy, we will enhance democracy, we will make sure Project 2025 never gets put into power, Donald Trump never regains power, and the American experiment will continue.”
“In all seriousness, I am very, very frightened about the prospect of a second Trump presidency. We can talk about the numbers of problems that would bring forth, but we’re here specifically to talk about Project 2025,” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore. “[…] What it will do is really deny people – particularly folks that are receiving Medicare, people who need food assistance through SNAP, formally food stamps, to be served by their government.”
“Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are attacking our democracy in real time, and it’s all spelled out in Project 2025,” said President of Wisconsin Teamsters Bill Carroll. “Simply put, a second Trump presidency would be a disaster for working people – because guess who he’s going to serve when he has all that power? Himself and his billionaire friends, not working people.”
