Today, former Republican Assemblywoman Sheehan Donoghue, who represented Lincoln, Langlade, and Oneida counties, endorsed Kamala Harris for President. Donoghue is the latest in a string of national and Wisconsin Republicans to reject Donald Trump’s extreme Project 2025 agenda and throw their support behind Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. From Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly and State Senator Robert Cowles to Bart Starr Jr. and conservative commentator Charlie Sykes, these Republicans are sending the important message that now is the time to put country over party by supporting Vice President Harris and preventing Trump from being even more dangerous and unhinged in a second term.

“I feel that Republicans and Democrats and independents should all support Kamala Harris because we believe in the rule of law,” Donoghue said in an interview with WJFW. “Unfortunately, the former President does not believe in the rule of law. He believes in loyalty to himself. Kamala Harris believes in loyalty to the Constitution of the United States. She is prepared to be president. Donald Trump should not be anywhere near the Oval Office ever again.”

Donoghue grew up in Republican politics, working for the Republican National Committee right out of college. She went on to work for President Richard Nixon’s White House Conference on Food, Nutrition, and Health. Eventually, she ran to represent her native north-central Wisconsin in the State Assembly for six terms.

Vice President Harris has been endorsed by hundreds of prominent Republican leaders, and Republicans for Harris is a grassroots organizing coalition building on the campaign’s work to reach and mobilize the millions of Republican voters who reject the chaos, division, and violence of Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.

Trump not only refuses to acknowledge his loss and attempts to overturn the 2020 election – as JD Vance defended in primetime during the vice presidential debate – but has suggested “terminating” the Constitution. Just this week, a report highlighted former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly confirmed Trump said he wished he could have the kind of generals that Hitler had and warned Trump would govern like a dictator if allowed.
