MADISON — Wisconsin entrepreneur Eric Hovde won Friday’s debate, holding Sen. Baldwin accountable for her record of failure. Eric Hovde shared his vision to restore the American Dream by lowering costs, securing the southern border, and protecting girls from Sen. Baldwin’s radical agenda. He proved Sen. Baldwin is radical, extreme and wrong for Wisconsin. After 26 years in Washington, Sen. Baldwin completely ignored her record of failure, resorting to lies about Eric in an effort to distract voters.
A few debate takeaways:
Throughout the hour-long debate, Sen. Baldwin did not say the word “inflation” once. The latest Marquette poll found nearly 40% of Wisconsinites rated the economy as the top issue for deciding their vote.
When pressed on her massive potential conflict of interest with her partner, Maria Brisbane, who advises the uber-wealthy in industries regulated by Sen. Baldwin, she had no defense and did not deny the conflict of interest, instead saying “stay out of my personal life.”
Sen. Baldwin was called out for lying about her role in the FEND OFF Fentanyl Act while supporting the Biden-Harris administration’s dangerous open-border policies. Following the debate Tim Scott, the author of the FEND OFF Fentanyl Act said, “I’ve never had a single conversation with Tammy about this bill.”

Immigration
“Here’s the reality, and you can’t run from this fact: The last year of President Trump, only 300,000 illegal immigrants came into the country. The first year of Joe Biden, he lifted 95 executive orders, most importantly, Stay in Mexico. Over 3 million came in the first year, over 3 million the second year, over 4 million the next year. We don’t know how many have come in, but it’s flooded our streets with fentanyl. We have criminals that have entered into our country, and it’s created a humanitarian crisis. I fought against sex trafficking for almost 20 years, and they can’t account for 300,000 children and those children, sadly, a big percentage of them have probably ended up being sex trafficked.” – Eric Hovde
Corruption
“From the get go, I said, I’m not going to take special interest money. I will not be owned by anyone, unlike Senator Baldwin, who not only has taken massive amounts of special interest money from Big Pharma, Wall Street, [and] big tech, but her partner on Wall Street, a Wall Street executive, is investing in big tech and Big Pharma, a committee she oversees, and they don’t disclose those investments and how much they’re profiting from it. That’s fundamentally wrong, and you should disclose what investments your partner is making.” – Eric Hovde
FEND OFF Fentanyl Act
“She’s trying to take credit for doing something against fentanyl when it was Senator Tim Scott that wrote the bill. He said Senator Baldwin offered no amendment and he hadn’t talked to her for two years.” – Eric Hovde
Time for Change
“I entered into this race because I love my country. I love America. We’ve been blessed to live in this wonderful country. But our country has gone in the wrong direction. You can stay with Senator Baldwin who has been in Washington for 26 years. Do you think you are better off than you were 4 years ago or even 26 years ago? I think it’s time for a change. I promise you I will work hard on your behalf and I’d be honored to have your vote.” – Eric Hovde
