MADISON — The Eric Hovde for Senate campaign released a new ad highlighting Sen. Baldwin’s failure to secure the southern border leading to fentanyl flooding our streets. The ad features Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt whose community has been impacted by Sen. Baldwin’s failure.

“Sen. Baldwin has done nothing but serve as a rubber stamp for radical open-border policies, empowering criminal cartels to flood our streets with fentanyl. Sen. Baldwin can’t be trusted to keep Wisconsin safe. It’s time for change.” – Hovde spokesman, Zach Bannon

BACKGROUND
Since Sen. Baldwin has been in the Senate, opioid overdose deaths have nearly tripled in Wisconsin. A recent report from Forward Analytics found fentanyl is the leading cause of death of people aged 25-54 in Wisconsin.

Moreover, Sen. Baldwin has said we spend “too much money” securing the southern border and has repeatedly voted against border security that would prevent the flow of drugs from entering our country.
