MADISON – Wisconsin entrepreneur Eric Hovde released the following statement regarding Iran’s attack on Israel:

“My prayers are with the people of Israel. Weak leadership from the Biden-Harris administration with Sen. Baldwin’s support has made our world more dangerous. While Sen. Baldwin has voted multiple times against Iranian sanctions emboldening our enemies in Tehran, I unequivocally support Israel, a key ally and friend of the United States.”

BACKGROUND

Baldwin supported the Obama Iran Nuclear Deal, claiming it would “best serve America’s national security interest.” And in 2021, she urged the Biden Administration to rejoin the agreement over the objections of Israel.

Baldwin voted against the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act.

In 2010, Baldwin was one of eight members of Congress who voted against the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act.

In 2011, Baldwin voted against the defense spending bill with new sanction tactics for Iran. And during her run for the Senate, Baldwin received $60,000 from a group opposed to Iranian sanctions.

Last November, the Biden administration with Sen. Baldwin’s support approved $10 billion for Iran after the October 7th attacks.

Just this week, Baldwin was the only vulnerable Senate Democrat who didn’t explicitly criticize Sen. Sanders’ effort to freeze aid to Israel.
