The Joint Finance Committee voted along party lines today to approve $825,700 in funding to cover the Department of Transportation’s costs to issue replacement license plates.
But the motion approved 11-4 also rejected the agency’s request for $4.9 million to pay for issuing standard license plates.
Committee member Rep. Tip McGuire, D-Kenosha, said the move would create a hole in the DOT budget.
