Green Bay, WI— According to third-quarter FEC reports published Tuesday, Wisconsin’s 8th District Democratic nominee, Dr. Kristin Lyerly, has a substantial cash advantage over her opponent, Tony Wied. The Lyerly campaign had a record-breaking third quarter, raising more than any candidate has ever raised in a single quarter in the 8th District and raising three times as much as Republican nominee Tony Wied raised in the same period. In addition to Lyerly’s strong fundraising numbers, the Lyerly campaign has a significantly larger war chest, with almost three times as much cash on hand. This all comes on the heels of New York Times article featuring the race as a national story on reproductive rights.

“I’m honored to have so much grassroots support for my campaign, with over 44,000 individual donors to date. It means a lot that all these folks are joining our movement to protect reproductive freedom,  lower costs, and fix healthcare,” Dr. Kristin Lyerly said.

“The fundraising gap in this race is indicative of which campaign has momentum on their side. Tony Wied is an especially weak candidate for 8th District voters seeking an independent member of Congress who will stand up for lower gas prices, reproductive freedoms, and a secure southern border,” Lyerly spokesperson Kurt Frewing said. “Unlike the Wied campaign, which has a meager $230k cash on hand, the Lyerly campaign will have the resources to draw that contrast on the airwaves successfully.”

The Lyerly campaign is pressing its resource advantage, announcing a substantial six-figure ad buy yesterday and releasing a new TV ad titled “Represent You.
