Madison, WI — Our Revolution, America’s largest grassroots progressive political organization, announced today that it is officially throwing its support and massive organizing infrastructure behind the effort to urge Wisconsin voters to cast an “uninstructed” vote in the upcoming April 2nd Democratic presidential primary.
The organization – which also supported successful campaigns in Michigan and Washington – is kicking off an aggressive get out the vote effort to engage its 146,000 members in the Badger State by phone, text, and email, encouraging them to use their vote to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Later today, members will receive a pledge email urging them to join more than half a million Americans across the country who’ve already cast protest votes against American involvement in the ongoing war.
The email, which directs supporters HERE to the “Uninstructed Pledge” on the Our Revolution website, says in part:
We must keep up the momentum we’ve built in Michigan, Minnesota, Washington and other state primaries, where HALF A MILLION Uncommitted Votes broke through to the White House and led President Biden to call for a “temporary ceasefire.”
By voting Uninstructed in Wisconsin, you’ll be raising your voice for a PERMANENT CEASEFIRE and an end to U.S. money and weapons being sent to Netanyhau’s rightwing government and used in the killing of tens of thousands of civilians and children.
In tandem with the pledge email, Our Revolution will go live with a series of posts on its official social media channels. Members in Wisconsin will also begin receiving text notifications encouraging them to pledge to vote uninstructed in the Democratic presidential primary.
“Children are starving and people are dying in Gaza because of American made weapons and failed American policy,” said Joseph Geevarghese, Executive Director of Our Revolution. “Progressive Democrats will not stand by idly as the White House sends hundreds of millions of dollars in weapons to Israel to enable Netanyahu’s horrific bombing campaign. We encourage any and all pro-peace voters in Wisconsin to join our movement and use their ballot to pressure President Biden to change course and call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.”
