Christian Phelps, Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 93rd Assembly District, made the following statement on tonight’s primary election results:

“I have many people to thank–first and foremost, Nickolas Butler, who ran a positive primary campaign all summer. I am excited to work in partnership with Nick, and his whole team of supporters, to flip the 93rd this fall and to govern as a community in 2025.

I also thank the many amazing volunteers and donors who have already dedicated an incredible amount of time and resources to this effort.

Finally, I thank every Chippewa Valley voter who made their voice heard at the ballot box in this primary. We are feeling a groundswell of passion and optimism. I love our community.

We have waited a long time for a real shot at reinvesting in our public schools and universities, releasing healthcare funds and stabilizing access to mental and reproductive healthcare, climate-protection policies, and more. This is our time, and we are ready to take it.

I’m grateful for your support. Together, we will win again in November and hit the ground running in the legislature come January.

Democracy thrives in the Chippewa Valley!”
