Assembly Republicans unanimously select August to lead caucus.\

MADISON… Today, the Assembly Republican caucus held elections to select the leadership team for the upcoming 2025-26 legislative session.  Representative Tyler August (R-Walworth) was unanimously selected by members to serve as Majority Leader.  “I am humbled by the support my colleagues have entrusted in me to lead our caucus,” said August.  “I look forward to working with our new majority to keep our state moving forward.” This will be Representative August’s second term as Majority Leader, as he continues in the role from last legislative session.  August also has served as the Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore in previous sessions. “I’m excited to continue to enact policies that promote our GOP agenda including smaller government, lower taxes, and personal freedom,” explained August.  “The upcoming legislative session will present us with the opportunity to help solve problems facing families all across our state.” The next legislative session begins next year, when newly elected legislators are sworn into office on January 6, 2025.
