MADISON, WI –On Tuesday, June 25, Corey P. Proulx, a youth counselor for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, was killed while on duty. Representative Shelia Stubbs (D-Madison) released the following statement: 

“My prayers and my deepest sympathies go out to the family, friends, colleagues, and community of Corey Proulx, who tragically passed away at the age of 49 this past Tuesday, June 25.

Corey Proulx served the State of Wisconsin as a youth counselor for the Department of Corrections, where he was known for his compassion and his dedication to caring for and supporting youth. He will forever be remembered for the positive impact he left on the lives of his colleagues and of the youth he helped mentor.

Flags across Wisconsin will be flown at half-mast until sunset tomorrow in honor of Corey Proulx’s life and in mourning of his passing. My thoughts and heart are with his loved ones in their time of profound grief.”
