MADISON – Yesterday, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos announced committee leadership for the 2025 -2026 Legislative Session. Representative Rob Swearingen (R – Rhinelander) released the following statement in response to the announcement.

“I’d like to thank Speaker Vos for reappointing me as Chairman of the Assembly Committee on State Affairs. I look forward to another session working with my veteran colleagues on the committee, as well as several new members who will be appointed to serve. I’m also excited to welcome back Representative Chanz Green (R – Ashland), to the committee and look forward to him serving as Vice-Chairman for another session.” 

In this role, Representative Swearingen will lead the committee in overseeing legislation related to state government operations, including a wide range of issues such as elections, alcohol policy, ethics, and state employee relations. Rep. Swearingen has served as Chairman of this committee since 2015.

Rep. Swearingen was also reappointed as Vice-Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Tourism.

Representative Swearingen represents the 34th Assembly District, which includes the Northwoods counties of Oneida and Vilas.
