Washington, D.C. – The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced the second round of its paid media effort to help defend its majorities in the battleground states of Arizona, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin by going on offense against state Democrats in key bellwether districts. Through the “Left’s Most Wanted” campaign, the RSLC will spend the final weeks of the election season making an example of a total eight state Democrats (two-three in each state) by holding them accountable for their failed records and agendas.

The targeted digital ad campaign is backed by a six-figure investment and will run through Election Day. The second flight of spots the committee is releasing starts today and takes aim at these eight state Democrats for their inaction on immigration, crime and the economy.

The RSLC will run ads in the following districts:

  • ARIZONA
    • LD-4: Christine Marsh
    • LD-13: Brandy Reese
    • LD-16: Keith Seaman
  • NEW HAMPSHIRE
    • SD-11: Shannon Chandley
    • SD-18: Donna Soucy
  • WISCONSIN
    • AD-21: David Marstellar
    • AD-26: Joe Sheehan
    • AD-61: LuAnn Bird

Across these key battleground states Republicans have a strong slate of candidates running to win or flip seats from Democrats who continue to run further and further to the left of their voters in their respective swing districts. In nearly every district we’re targeting, the margin of victory during recent Presidential elections has been razor-thin —less than five points—underscoring just how competitive these races will be in November. In Arizona, the GOP’s proven track record in the legislature positions us to sweep key House districts and protect vital state Senate seats that will ultimately determine the legislative majority. Similarly, in New Hampshire, Republicans are working to protect our majorities in both chambers, contesting seats that were decided by only a handful of votes in 2022. In Wisconsin, Republicans are vying for newly drawn districts, and securing these key Assembly seats will be pivotal in maintaining our legislative advantage; an investment we anticipated earlier this cycle.

Background:

Earlier this year, the RSLC released its updated legislative targets prioritizing the defense of Republican strongholds nationwide. Arizona, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin were named three of the most critical GOP majorities to protect in this contentious election year. Republicans currently control 57 state legislative chambers, while Democrats have majorities in 42. Tight margins in numerous states mean that just five chambers stand in the way of Democrats gaining a national majority.

The “Left’s Most Wanted” fall series ad campaign follows the RSLC’s summer ad series emphasizing how the agendas being pursued by Republicans in state houses across the country are directly addressing the top issues on the minds of voters in key battleground states.
