Madison… Senator Joan Ballweg was awarded the “Friend of Towns” Award from the Wisconsin Towns Association on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Sauk County Unit meeting in Reedsburg. Ballweg represents the 14th Senate District, which now includes Reedsburg.

Mike Koles, the Wisconsin Towns Association Executive Director, presented Senator Ballweg with this award for her long support of town government and her legislative and budget accomplishments that benefit the work of local officials and the citizens they represent.

“I appreciate the recognition from the Wisconsin Towns Association,” said Ballweg.

“I want to thank the Wisconsin Towns Association for the services they provide to local officials and town residents and for their partnership as we work together to support town government.

“Residents in towns and rural areas of the state need a strong advocate representing their values at the Capitol and I am glad the Wisconsin Towns Association recognizes me as someone they can count on.”

As a state senator, this is the second consecutive session the Wisconsin Towns Association has awarded Senator Ballweg the “Friend of Towns” Award. Senator Ballweg is committed to continue advocating for town governments and their residents in her work in the state legislature.
