Madison… Senator John Jagler (R-Watertown) and Representative William Penterman (R-Watertown) issued the following statement following news that the Main Street Bridge in Watertown was being delayed until 2025:
“News that the Main Street Bridge in Watertown won’t be completed on schedule is devastating. Watertown residents and business owners have been told time and time again that the project is on time and will be completed this year. This vital artery needs to be up and running as soon as possible. We pushed hard in the state budget to secure immediate funding to start decoupling and construction. If the Department of Transportation (DOT) knew of the issues delaying completion and didn’t communicate it to the City and business owners, they owe everyone in Watertown more than just an apology. We are demanding that everyone involved, the DOT, the City of Watertown and the Contractor do everything in their power to fix this and complete the bridge as soon as humanly possible.”
