MADISON, WI – Senator Kelda Roys has officially announced her endorsement of Jill Underly’s re-election campaign for Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction in the upcoming 2025 Spring General Election.
“Jill Underly is Wisconsin’s strongest champion for public education, and we need her continued voice as State Superintendent. Jill’s leadership has been critical in addressing literacy and student mental health needs in our schools. Our kids and families are lucky to have her fighting for us.” said Senator Roys.
Underly, elected in 2021, has been a leader in ensuring all students receive a fair, high-quality education. Prior to her election as Superintendent, she served as a local district superintendent, a principal, and a classroom teacher. Her leadership at the Department of Public Instruction has focused on improving literacy, addressing student mental health challenges, and ensuring every child, no matter where they live, has the resources they need to succeed.
In response to the endorsement, Dr. Underly expressed her gratitude for Senator Roys’ support. “I’m honored to have Senator Roys’ endorsement. Her tireless advocacy for Wisconsin’s families and progressive values are truly inspiring, and I look forward to continuing our work together to ensure that all students have access to an excellent education.”
Underly emphasized that her campaign will remain “people-powered” and focused on making the necessary investments in Wisconsin’s schools to continue improving education for every child.
Jill Underly lives in rural Hollandale with her husband and two children, as well as too many animals to count.
