EAU CLAIRE, WI – Senator Jeff Smith today endorsed Jill Underly in her re-election campaign for Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction for the upcoming 2025 Spring Election.

“I trust Jill Underly to keep fighting for Wisconsin’s students, teachers, and families. Superintendent Underly has worked tirelessly to improve education in our state, especially for rural communities like mine. I fully endorse her for another term as State Superintendent,” said Senator Smith.

Underly, who was first elected in 2021, has prioritized improving literacy, supporting student mental health resources, and ensuring that all students, no matter their zip code, have access to a fair and excellent public education. Before becoming State Superintendent, Underly served as a local district superintendent, principal, and teacher, giving her a well-rounded perspective on education.

In response to Smith’s endorsement, Underly expressed her gratitude. “I’m honored to have Senator Smith’s support. His dedication to rural communities and public education aligns with our shared vision for Wisconsin’s schools. I look forward to continuing this important work together.”

Underly’s campaign remains focused on being “people-powered,” with a commitment to tackling the challenges that Wisconsin’s schools face and investing in the future of every child.

Jill Underly lives in rural Hollandale with her husband and two children, as well as too many animals to count.
