Tracy Drier, vice chancellor for finance and administration at UW-Eau Claire, says that Steinhorst has both the general and campus experience to successfully lead this crucial administrative unit.
“I am excited to announce that Jennifer Steinhorst has accepted the chief human resources officer position, effective Monday, Sept. 30,” Drier says. “Jen has been an invaluable part of our HR team since 2016, demonstrating leadership, dedication and a commitment to a supportive workplace. I am confident she will lead our HR initiatives to new heights and continue to enhance our campus community.”
In August, Steinhorst earned the 2024 Academic Staff Excellence in Performance Award at the annual Blugold Breakfast. Peer nomination materials for that award cited Steinhorst’s “understanding of the importance of work-life balance, understanding evident in the guidance and decisions she has brought forward.”
Steinhorst, who earned a degree in human resources management from UW-Stout, looks forward to applying her strong relationships on campus and with external partners to identify problems and find solutions that will benefit all campus employees.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as UW-Eau Claire’s chief human resources officer,” Steinhorst says.
“I am committed to supporting the university’s vision while enhancing employee engagement and retention. I look forward to continued collaboration with our faculty, staff and students to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture.”
