PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wisc. – On Wednesday the 70th Secretary of State, the honorable Mike Pompeo, endorsed Wisconsin Congressman Derrick Van Orden in his campaign for re-election.
In a statement of endorsement, Pompeo discussed Van Orden’s commitment to ensuring everyone can achieve the American dream.
“Derrick Van Orden is a decorated veteran, a family man, and a man of faith who is committed to ensuring every American can achieve the American Dream,” Pompeo said in his endorsement. “I’m excited to endorse him today to represent Wisconsin’s 3rd District, and I encourage the good people of Wisconsin to join me in supporting him!”
In response to the endorsement from the former secretary of state, Van Orden discussed the importance of national security as a retired Navy SEAL. “I’m grateful to have the support of Secretary Pompeo. As a fellow veteran, former Congressman, and former Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo knows the threats Americans face both at home and abroad. We need real leaders in Washington today to stand up for our families and the struggles they are facing, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to do that.”
