“We All Belong” is MICAH’s campaign to protect democracy, reject white Christian nationalism, and build the Beloved Community. MICAH (Milwaukee Inner-city Congregations Allied for Hope) is a faith-based social justice organization that has been advocating for social justice and racial equity for over 35 years.

The Rally for Democracy will celebrate our democracy as a government “of the people, by the people and for the people” and will call out the dangers of the white Christian nationalism ideology that would destroy our democracy, pervert religious faith and eliminate individual freedoms.  The rally will feature national speakers, MICAH leaders and local activists, as well as music and entertainment.

The four keynote speakers are:

·    Rev. Al Sharpton, founder of National Action Network

·    Amanda Tyler, founder, Christians against Christian Nationalism

·    Fr. Bryan Massingale, the James and Nancy Buckman Chair, Applied Christian Ethics, Fordham

·    Rev. Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners and Chair, Georgetown University Center on Faith & Justice

Ms. ValLimar Jansen, inspirational singer, composer, recording artist will lead us in building the Beloved Community

Reverend Dr. Richard Shaw, President of MICAH, and one of the speakers, highlights the importance that this rally is being held in Milwaukee at this time: “This rally will showcase the unity of MICAH’s interfaith community and our belief in the value and dignity of every human being.  Importantly, we emphasize our rejection of ideologies that create a polarized society and promote a hierarchy based on religion or ethnicity.”

This event is open to the public.
