MADISON – Wisconsin Conservation Voters Independent Expenditure Committee (WCV IEC) is conducting its largest independent state legislative campaign ever for the Nov. 5 election. The campaign includes paid and volunteer canvasses, digital campaigns, and mail in support of endorsed candidates across the state.
“With fair district maps in place, this election could transform the state assembly from an anti-conservation, anti-environmental majority to pro-conservation, pro-democracy, and pro-environment one,” Deputy Director Seth Hoffmeister said. “We’re also focused on electing Jodi Habush Synikin to Senate District 8, so that her opponent Duey Stroebel’s long and destructive record on everything from voting rights to the environment ends.”
Tactics include:
- Paid canvassing in Senate District 8, more than 90,500 doors
- Paid canvassing in Senate District 30, nearly 80,000 doors
- 9,000 volunteer driven doors in Assembly Districts 53, 61, and 85
- 20 pieces of mail to voters in Senate Districts 8 and 30, and Assembly Districts 61, 85, 91, and 94
- More than $360,000 in digital ads in Senate Districts 8 and 30, and Assembly Districts 91 and 94
WCV IEC has raised nearly $1.6 million thus far and is now entering the final weeks of this election push.
By election day, WCV IEC will have knocked on nearly 180,000 doors, including 117,000 in partnership with the LCV Victory Fund to ensure Wisconsin not only restores balance to the state legislature but also re-elects Tammy Baldwin to the U.S. Senate and elects Vice President Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States.
“Voters understand how important this general election is, and what an impact it will have on finally freeing voters from more than a decade of the worst legislative gerrymander in the U.S.,” Hoffmeister said. “We want to ensure voters know the candidates who are working for issues they care about and who will fight for them in Madison.”
