MADISON, Wis. — Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement after Governor Tim Walz’s victory in tonight’s Vice Presidential Debate:
“There’s no doubt that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are the right choice—and the only choice—to move our country forward. Tonight while JD Vance floundered, lied, and refused to acknowledge that Trump lost in 2020, Tim Walz laid out the Harris-Walz vision for our future in which everyone has the opportunity to get ahead and our freedoms are not just defended, but guaranteed.
“It’s clear that while Donald Trump is unfit to lead, JD Vance is unfit to follow. JD Vance is nothing more than a mouthpiece for Donald Trump and the dangerous Trump-Vance Project 2025 Agenda that would drag our country backwards. JD Vance will put loyalty to Donald Trump over our country—and that’s the last thing Wisconsin needs. Donald Trump was a disaster for Wisconsin in his first term, and with JD Vance at his side, a second Trump term would be even worse.”
