MADISON, Wis. — In a new op-ed for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Tony Wied doubled down on his commitment to being a rubber stamp for Donald Trump, failing to put forth any unique or original thoughts of his own as he parroted some of Donald Trump’s most extreme positions.

While Tony Wied runs on a platform of being Donald Trump’s sidekick, Dr. Kristin Lyerly is running to be the independent voice northeast Wisconsin deserves. Kristin Lyerly has a plan to restore reproductive freedom, bring down costs, and work across the aisle to get results for the 8th District, while Tony Wied would rather copy and paste whatever Donald Trump says.

Tony Wied would be a rubber stamp for Donald Trump:

  • Tony Wied’s website is notably light on any policy positions other than supporting Donald Trump.
  • Tony Wied parrots Donald Trump’s false claims about energy independence, despite the fact the United States is producing more oil under President Biden than ever before.

  • Tony Wied supports extending Donald Trump’s tax scam, which overwhelmingly benefitted the top 1%, gave massive handouts to big corporations, exploded the deficit, and created incentives to ship jobs overseas.

  • Tony Wied props up Donald Trump’s immigration fear-mongering, oblivious to the reality that Donald Trump killed the Bipartisan Border Bill that was called the toughest and fairest border reform bill in decades.
