MADISON, Wis. — As President Biden and Vice President Harris lay out their plan to make health care more affordable and accessible and bring down the costs of prescription drugs for Americans, Donald Trump is plotting to rip away access to lifesaving health care for millions of Americans.

“Donald Trump wants to take Wisconsinites backward on health care—-raising costs and leaving millions of Americans without coverage,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Joe Oslund. “The contrast is stark between Trump’s plans to make health care harder to access for Wisconsinites while President Biden is actually lowering costs and expanding access to quality, affordable care. It’s clear that sending President Biden and Vice President Harris back to the White House this November is the only way to protect our health care.”

Trump and MAGA Republicans will threaten health care access for millions of Americans if they get the chance, including by:

  • Ripping away health care for 45 million people enrolled through the ACA, including 266,000 Wisconsinites.

  • Gutting health care protections for more than 100 million Americans with preexisting conditions like cancer, asthma, and diabetes, including 800,000 Wisconsinites.

  • Threatening coverage and care for Americans with Medicaid.

  • Raising premiums and health care costs by thousands of dollars a year for millions of Americans.

  • Allowing insurance companies to rip off Americans with junk insurance products.

  • Raising seniors’ prescription drug costs by hundreds of dollars per year.

  • Gutting Medicare.
